JULIE AND ERIC

Project Background

This couple, along with their young child, were ready to transition from city living in search of a home that better supported their growing family and lifestyle. Partnering with their real estate agent, they found their dream home in Homeland, closer to their daughter’s school and nestled in a community that offered both charm and convenience.

While they loved the history and character of the home, they envisioned a space that felt reflective of their personality. With a passion for entertaining, they were especially drawn to incorporating modern updates alongside thoughtful design details that celebrate the home’s original features. Pops of color and a balance of old and new became key elements throughout the project.

All exterior improvements were completed in accordance with HOA guidelines and approvals, ensuring a seamless integration into the neighborhood. The project was supported in part by a 203k renovation loan, allowing the clients to bring their vision to life while investing in the long-term value of their home.

Why did you hire One Source Contracting?

"We discovered OneSource through our trusted real estate agent, who spoke very highly of the company’s expertise in renovating and reimagining historic homes in Baltimore. One Source’s strong reputation in the community, especially for navigating strict HOA requirements and honoring original architectural details, made the choice easy. We felt confident the company understood both the limitations and possibilities of renovating a home from 1929."

What surprised you most about the renovation process?

"We were surprised by how many creative opportunities emerged as the project unfolded, such as repurposing the original kitchen swing door into a sliding pocket door for the powder room. The team’s ability to think quickly, pivot when needed, and find beauty in original elements made for a successful renovation."
